She's Right
You know, I didn't watch the CMA Awards last night (Wednesday), but from the comments that Wynona Judd made about Taylor Swift, I'm glad I didn't.......because, Wynona is right.....only she should have mentioned that country music isn't country music anymore, it's whatever the next American Idol is singing...maybe some of "today's" country music artists should be required a history lesson in what country music is and some of the artists that paved the road for them. But you know, it's like that in all genres of music..the present forgets about the past and the people who sacrificed their families, their beliefs, maybe even their lives, just so that their music could be heard. I think some of today's artists are just selfish, immature pre-adults who seem to have forgotten what it's all about. Just a thought............hang in there!

Wacky World
The shooting that has taken place at Ft.Hood, Texas, is a reminder that this world we live in is well, wacky! There is no sense to the murders that took place at a military installation. What in the world is going on?!?!?! It's bad enough that we are at war with......wait, who are we fighting again? Oh, yeah...the Taliban....or at least I thought we were. Don't take this as I don't support our troops.....just the opposite....I think our troops are sooooooooo under appreciated by our government that it sickens me. When you have troops on their 3rd,4th, 5th deployment...there has to come a time when enough is enough....WWII didn't last this freaking long! and we were allllllll over the world. Vietnam, well, read your history...never go into an area where the enemy has the advantage....HINT HINT....Our Vietnam vets deserve pats on the back, a handshake, a hug.....anything to let them know we love them and appreciate their sacrifice...because believe me, they have sacrificed more than you and I could possibly imagine.I love America, the freedom we have to vote, to put the right people in the right place, to agree to disagree...i could go on and on....PLEASE!!! Keep the people of Ft.Hood and their families in your prayers...your moment of silence....whatever you want to call it, do it! Until next time, hang in there~~~~~~!!! :)

Thoughts from a Clothesline
I don't believe that love (in the romantic fashion) exists. I do believe that a bad date can produce feelings of never wanting to go out again...:D After being single for years and having an opportunity to go out with an actual adult, GASP!, I was sure that it was just like riding a bicycle....until the next day when text messages of "how badly he wants me" began making my stomach turn. I mean, come on......after one date??? So much for the load of crap that was being shoveled down on my like a mushroom at a compost farm....."I'm wanting to settle down....tired of playing games....etc...etc". I think that the dating world has completely evolved into a dungeon, filled who those who take advantage of those around them, playing on their emotional baggage (and yes, everyone has it! it just depends on how you handle it and to whom you trust it to!!!)
At my age, dating is not like shooting fish in a barrel, it's more like bobbing for piranhas....:s Besides, I have so much that is going on...where would I find the time for dating, let alone a serious relationship? Sure, I could go with the flow and have some fun, but that's just not me....the bar scene is a place that has ran its course...you've seen one bar, you've just about seen them all.
Maybe this week I'll focus on other things and hopefully get through this web we call life.....until next time...hang in there!!

Beginning
So, have you ever felt like your mind was a giant ball of rubber bands, just waiting to break? That sometimes the tension was so tight you were afraid you would snap at any given moment? Well, neither have I....:) I figured that in today's world of wonderful technology, what better way to express simple ideas and thought from everyday life in a small town in Alabama that to..............BLOG!
I call this journey, 'Thoughts from a Clothesline: Simple Thoughts from a Simple Place'. Kinda catchy, huh? Well, the reason behind that title is simple...think about it.....if you've ever had to use a clothesline, it's a simple place, set apart from distractions like the television, radio, phone, etc...a place where as you are performing a simple task, it gives you the opportunity to let you mind wander and get thoughts together, a place where you can enjoy your surrondings. My clothesline goes from around a huge pecan tree in my backyard to a pole that has been up since my grandparent's lived here. So, not only do I have the shade, it allows me to enjoy my surrondings and since I live in the country, well, that just makes it all that more enjoyable....the open land, the birds, the trees...it's almost like a painting coming to life.
I hope that through this blog I can share thoughts and ideas with others and make a few friends along the way. I will do my best to stay on top of this as I am on the computer daily due to taking online classes....so, let's hope this goes well, and until next time....keep the line free!!
